Back in the USA

If you have reading the past blogs, you know we are back in the U.S.A and have read about our “experience” at customs.  After we were done causing confusion at the border, we headed to the east side of Glacier National

We were last at Glacier in 2006.  At that time, we camped on the west side of the park and drove the “Road to the Sun” from west to east. This is the road that goes across the mountains. In 2006, a forest fire stopped us from going the whole all way on the road.  So we decided this time to drive from East to West, just so we could see what we had missed.

We fired up the Jeep at 7:00 a.m. so we could see the sun rise in the mountains.  It was so totally worth getting going that early.  Here are the pictures.

How about some critters?  We saw some I had never seen before…such as a Grizzly Bear!

After a day spent in Glacier, it was time to leave and head south.  We first went through some of the area that suffered from the 2006 forest fire.  The highway to get out the mountains is challenging when in a motor home.  Jim enjoyed the drive, I was white-knuckling it.  Once we were out of the mountains, BAM!  Montana is definitely Big Sky Country.  And the cattle rule the landscape.

We stopped in Great Falls for a few days. It was time to regroup, grocery shop, etc. etc. etc.  Blue also badly needed a bath.  While there, we met a couple from Batavia, NY.  Sometimes it is a small world!

While in Great Falls, I got a text from the former owners of Blue, Pam and Tom.  Friends of theirs who are familiar with Blue were also in Montana and they spotted us going down the road. They let Pam know of the Blue-sighting who then texted me.  Yup, Blue is one of a kind!  But what are the odds of someone Pam and Tom know spotting us???

After our couple of days of R&R, we set our sights on Idaho.  Here’s the most significant thing we saw entering the state.  We kept it at 65 mph.

More adventures to come!

Giving Blue a bath must be an all day project!!! Assume you are carrying a big ladder with you.

Neat pictures. Sounds like you’re still having a good time. And yes — it is a small world. When you least expect it —-

Giving Blue a bath is a bit of a job. We do have a tall ladder with us…but didn’t use it. We have a long pole with a pad on the end. If you ever want to build up your biceps, just come on over the next time we are cleaning Blue and you can help. ๐Ÿ™‚
