Our Spring 2018 trip has ended. It’s been different than other trips. Being in more populated states, the trip often lacked the majestic views. But we were able to reconnect with a lot of family and friends, and that is not a bad thing at all.

Here’s where we traveled. The blue lines are the places we drove to. The red lines represent my travels to see my Dad and visit our kids in Galveston.
After our visit to Assateague Island, we moved a whole 30 miles north and spent 3 days at Delaware Seashore State Park. This park is on the Indian River Inlet from the Atlantic Ocean. The place is popular with anglers and beach goers. We spent a couple of days hiking and watching the tide flow in and out of the inlet.

This was the view from the RV. Not too shabby! We purposely reserved a campsite at the end of a row.
The next stop was Reston, Virginia (just west of Washington D.C.). Let me just say the husband did marvelous driving our big rig around the Washington Beltway. Jim has a nephew in Reston who also has a new baby! Toss in another nephew coming down for the weekend and we had a Goeke Reunion in Virginia!

L to R – Liz (Scott’s wife), Katie (new mom), Brandon (new Dad and nephew), Scott (nephew), Corinne and 4 week old Evelyn (grand-niece!) being held by Liz.
At some point I realized that Jinny Beyer’s Studio could be near Reston. That’s a name quilters would know. A quick check and I discovered her studio was only 4 miles away. Road trip!!! I abandoned my husband, grabbed my wallet, and headed to the studio. Jinny Beyer is a rock star in the quilting world. In fact, I did a mystery quilt of Jinny’s last year. I was looking for inspiration on how to quilt my mystery. Boy, did I find it!

This is my mystery quilt, designed by Jinny Beyer, that I made last year. it’s not quilted yet…but I now have the inspiration on what to do after the visit to Jinny’s Studio.
We departed Reston yesterday. Besides driving, the RV and the car were both pampered at a Blue Beacon Truck Wash (to get all the sea salt off it). Last night was spent in a parking lot.

Our final night on the road (this trip) was spent in the parking lot of the Sam’s Club in Williamsport, PA. Free camping is good too!
Today we filled the Blue Flames tanks with diesel fuel (the price of diesel has been creeping up…the thought is to fill up now because it’s going to be more expensive later). And we just finished the on the final leg home. It’s time to do some maintenance on the Blue Flame and give it a thorough cleaning inside in preparation for the next trip.
Head’s up…there is one more blog post coming. Janelle had a GIS (Geographic Information System) school project to do and it involved the Blue Flame. So I need her to help me co-author that blog post. Trust me, it will be very interesting.

When we get to a new destination, we always write down the zip code on our white board. The zip code is used when checking the weather, looking up TV listings, etc. For some reason, I never erased the previous zip codes on this trip. So these are all the zip codes we were in this Spring!
As I said, that’s a wrap! It’s now time to figure out where everything is in the house…again.
Thanks for sharing your final leg. Glad that you made it safely home. Hope you packed a lot of sunshine in that Blue Flame to share with us!!!!! Mystery quilt looks pretty good already — be sure to share a picture when you are finished — please.
Thanks B.A. I’ll be in touch about your network issue in a few weeks. I need to solve my own issues first. ๐
