So, what do you do after an epic two week boondocking adventure in Quartzsite? Why you head to a fancy RV resort near Palm Springs of course. Actually, the RV resort is in Indio, just west of Palm Springs. But most people haven’t hear of Indio.

We stayed here at Indian Waters four years ago and liked it. So we reserved two nights knowing that leaving Quartzsite we were going to need to dump the black and gray tanks and get fresh water. We might as well do it in style!

After our last visit to Indio, my Uncle Pat’s wife Terri reminded me that her sister Mary lives in Indio. Mary often joins us on the big family camp out in Michigan every July (more often than us I dare say). So I reached out to my cousin Kelly who put me in touch with Mary. A couple of text message later, Mary was on her way over for a visit. She only lived one mile away!

As the blog title stated, we booked for two nights, but knew by the next morning we weren’t ready to move on so quickly. So we were able to extend another three nights and partake of all the resort offered. Yay!

Our extra three nights were up before we knew it. And we still hadn’t done much than veg. A check of the weather showed rain was a’comin. We needed solar for our next destination. So guess what we did? Yup, extended for two more nights to let the rain pass.

Today was finally departure day and we meant it this time. I was getting the itch to move on. Plus, the resort was getting really full. I think 75% of the people are from Oregon, Washington, Alberta and British Columbia. I don’t think anybody is left in the Pacific Northwest. They are all in southern California!
So, I did two quick loads of laundry this morning and Jim dumped our tanks (again). We have hit the road and are going to Joshua Tree National Park.

Guess that “roughing it” is pretty stressful ๐ Glad that you took some time to regroup in a very nice place.. Heat wave here today — mid 50’s.
Regrouping…yeah…that’s what we were doing. ๐ I think we just needed some down time. We are off and running now at Joshua Tree!!!
So… who was the balloon pilot and which special shape did he have?!?
Sounds like the downtime was much needed and worth the two extensions.
It was the guy that owned Conair and Keystone Willy. This picture will refresh your memory. https://multifiles.pressherald.com/uploads/sites/11/2018/08/specialtyballoons-1.jpg
