This is how the conversation goes:
“Hey, Corinne and Jim…why are you still up here in the snowy Northeast? Why aren’t you down South in the motor home?”
Here’s the answer:
See that center door? The Blue Flame is just inside it. But even the Blue Flame can’t push through 4 feet of snow. Well, that is part of the reason. Helping to move Callie to Portland, Oregon in February was another reason. February was booked
So now what do we do? There is a warm up coming next week, or so we have been told. If all goes well, we’ll find someone to clear the snow away from the door. If that fails, we’ll send Jim over on his tractor/snow blower combination to do it. But that means a 20 minute drive (each way) on a tractor. That long of a drive is not fun when it’s cold, cold, cold.
Regardless, we’ve started making piles of the stuff to go back into the RV. So once it’s dug out, we toss the stuff in the RV and start driving.
Where are we headed? Someplace where there is no snow. We’ll start going south and take it from there. The ultimate destination is my parent’s place in Arizona.
Hopefully we will be on the road soon. We don’t have to be back until we need to move Janelle home from school in May. Retirement is good (or semi-retirement in my case). At least it will be once we get out of the cold. Stay tuned and stay warm.
Hope the snow clearing project goes well and that you can get on the road.
