Editor’s Notes: This post was written yesterday, Wednesday, August 27. It didn’t get posted until today due to spending 2 hours yesterday trying to get a printer working. So pretend it’s yesterday.
Also, I have yet to figure out why some people get emails saying there is a new blog post and some don’t. I’m working on it…kind of. Bear with me if you get notified twice.
I’m also playing with different image gallery plug-ins. Again, bear with me!

Our first BIG Adventure has begun. We are now on the road for a trip to the Canadian Rockies that could last up to 6 weeks. We have done very little planning and are going to take it as it comes!
But we didn’t just hop in Blue and take off. There was a whole series of events that had to happen.
Janelle (our youngest daughter) returned from a summer studying abroad in Finland. She then immediately had ACL reconstruction surgery for an injury she suffered in the Spring. And then we moved her back to college…all within a week.
We had to get Blue ready too. He now has an external WiFi antenna mounted on the back and a dedicated router in the coach. Yes, we are geeks.
Multiple trips were made to the store. The pantry and BOTH freezers were filled to capacity. Maybe they don’t have grocery stores in Canada! (Said “tongue in cheek”.)
Spot, the Squishable RV mascot, wearing Worrible‘s wings, had to be installed in the coach (It’s an inside story…if this doesn’t make sense, just move along).
We had a trial run one afternoon. Actually, we got tired of the preparations and decided to dig out the lawn chairs and sit for a while.
But finally, the Jeep was hooked up to the back of Blue…and we are off!!!
Right now we are at a KOA Campground in Barrie, Ontario. This campground honestly is one of the nicest KOAs we have ever stayed at. We have a concrete pad, nice landscaping, and strong WiFi! We are in the “Adult Section” of the campground. That does NOT mean parties filled with swingers. It means no kids allowed. When did we get so old?!?!?!?! Yikes. But it’s very quiet and just what we needed after the past couple of months. When we arrived yesterday it was 90 degrees out and we promptly hit the pool. Ahhhh.
Today it’s cooler out. So we took a drive down to Georgian Bay which is off of Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes. In-spite of it being only 63 degrees out, the beaches were full of tourists trying to pack as much as they can into the last week of summer before school starts back up. It feels good to not have to pack it in!
So, we’ve had today to chill, decompress, whatever you want to call it. Tomorrow we are heading further north.
Moving right along — enjoy!!!! Tried the “slide show” but just saw the 2 photos of Janelle.
Yup, just two photos on the slide show. Was there supposed to be more?
Yes, there were only two images in the slide show that featured Janelle. I was just kicking the tires!
